The Hangar 18, on the other hand, a mid-sized map, is also great, especially with its center point of view (although that may make you an easy target for any sniper). The map, which is modeled after a missile installation, has a lot of narrow passages, flank roads, warehouses to hide in, everything, and it favors traditional Call of Duty gameplay, the genre I prefer the most. The next two maps – Silo and Hangar 18 – are amazing, with the first being my favorite map of the bunch, as well as one of my favorite Black Ops maps overall. Personally, I try to avoid this map as much as possible, but Call of Duty is rather, shall we say, biased, matchmaking often gets me into this one anyway. Considering Call of Duty is all about fun, one-on-one shooter, this kind of kills the pace, and it seems to strongly favor camping. The map appears to favor long-range shots, which means this expansive map is snipers ‘and campers’ paradise. Then we have Hazard, and he’s probably my least favorite. It’s fun to play, and I can definitely see it become one of the more popular cards.

There’s everything, a snipers’ point of view (behind the neon signs, just to keep you out of trouble), plus iron fences for cover. It provides intense, non-stop racing and gun action, and it reminds me a bit of the map of Nuketown in the base Black Ops game, as well as the stadium map of First Strike.
While I wouldn’t call any of them balanced – but again, if you’re looking for balance in a Call of Duty game, you’re doing it wrong – they all serve the core gameplay of the game extremely well.ĭrive In is a small, heavily loaded card with little space to hide. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how well constructed these maps were. This map pack includes four maps for your usual multiplayer modes: Drive In, Hazard, Silo, and Hangar 18. Of the four new multiplayer maps, Silo is probably the best new addition. So without stopping to explain the intricacies of Call of Duty’s fast-paced shooter, I’m just going to get right to the point and explain whether the cards are worth the investment. Of course, at this point, if you’re reading this review, you’re probably already familiar with the ins and outs of Call of Duty’s multiplayer, and you’re probably wondering if the quality of the maps in this new set is worth the $ 15. The latest, Annihilation, is distinguished by the addition of five additional maps to the main multiplayer mode, which includes a Zombies map, Shangri-la. The developers have since added to the experience with Escalation, the first DLC set released for the title. Last year, Call of Duty: Black Ops, developed by Treyarch, was the best Call of Duty game since Modern Warfare, with a great campaign and a fun multiplayer mode to play. Activision will then follow up on the title with two expansions, which will add 3-5 new multiplayer maps to the main game. Each year, Activision will release a “new” Call of Duty game in November, which will break records in retail and then in hours logged online. It has become a predictable routine, to the point of being like clockwork now. This adds four multiplayer maps and one Zombies mode map. As you might expect, Black Ops is getting a new map pack.
